Black Opium

Just recently purchased a few scents from Dossier. The Ambery Vanilla was bought on a whim. I smelled it in Walmart and it was okay. I hadn’t smelled the real one. I bought through this website. It smells nice. Not really for me. I think it’s a nice scent but for more mature women and maybe a winter scent, def not summery. Also, disappointed in the longevity. I sprayed 3 sprays on my shirt, neck and arms. I then went to the gym. I was only able to smell the perfume for maybe 30 minutes. I can barely get a whiff of it on my shirt and my husband cannot smell it at all. If the perfume lasted, I would rate it 5/5.

I typically enjoy dossier impressions but this one is very Jasmine heavy. I got this fragrance (2 of them) as a gift for my aunt during the sample sale. Upon arrival I knew that I would have to exchange them because of the floral notes. When I tried to exchange them I was told that it wouldn’t be possible because it was purchased during a sample sale. After inspecting the packaging (the bottle has the all of the notes used) and the website, I noticed that the mid notes on the website are completely different from what is on the bottle and the description card that comes with the fragrance. I explained this to their customer service team and the only thing they did was offer 15% off my next purchase because apparently their system cannot generate a return label for a sample sale. However, in the FAQ section an exchange for a sample sale purchase is allowed if the product is wrong/damaged. Isn’t this technically wrong??? The notes are not as described because there is a discrepancy between the product and website. I now have two fragrances that I won’t use and when I offered to exchange the two of them for one fragrance without needing any money back they refused. What a disappointing experience.

I’m trying Dossier’s Ambery Vanilla perfume for the first time, and I’m already really impressed. The scent is warm, cozy, and slightly sweet without being overpowering—it feels perfect for everyday wear but still special.

Even on my first wear, I can tell it has that high-end feel, and I’ve already gotten compliments! I also love that it seems long-lasting, which I wasn’t expecting at this price point.

Dossier has really helped make fragrances more accessible for me. Being able to try luxury-inspired scents without spending a ton has made it so much easier (and more fun) to explore what I like.

If you’re thinking about trying a new scent, this is definitely a great one to start with!
